The Do's and Don'ts After a Car Accident

I was recently involved in a car accident. Unfortunately, since it was my first accident, I was scatter-brained and anxious. What I did not realize at the time was that the actions you take immediately after the accident can affect a personal injury case and the outcome of that case. I wanted to find a way to share my experiences and mistakes with other. Since the Internet is so popular, I figured this would be a great way to do so. While you likely aren't planning on being in an accident soon, if you are, hopefully you remember some of the tips I share on this website.

Learn About Discrimination In The Workplace And How It May Affect You

Yvonne Russell

Discrimination is not allowed in the workplace. However, in many cases, discrimination can be blurred because things aren't always cut and dry. Therefore, you should learn more about discrimination so you will be a better judge of whether or not discrimination is occurring to you or someone else in your workplace. Here is information on some different types of discrimination, as well as ways in which they are done.

A Couple of the Different Examples of Discrimination

Age discrimination is when a person is mistreated or treated unfairly due to their age. Whether the person is treated wrongly for being younger or older, it still counts as discrimination.

An example of age discrimination would be if a person applied for a job but was turned down because the employer or their staff felt the person was too old. Another example would be if someone was demoted to a simpler job because the employer felt someone their age shouldn't be in the position that they are in.

Anti-discrimination laws also protect those who are pregnant. Pregnant people can still expect to receive fair treatment in the workplace.

An example of pregnancy discrimination would be if a pregnant person was to be fired because the employer looked on their pregnancy as a sign of an inability to work as hard as others. Another example would be for a pregnant person to not get a job if the only reason for them not being hired was due to that pregnancy.

The above examples are just a few of the forms of discrimination. Discrimination protects everyone who may be wrongly treated due to any trait or characteristic that they may have. Some of the other more common reasons why people tend to be discriminated against also include gender, gender preferences, race, disabilities, and religion. There are also many others as well.

Some Ways in Which People Can Discriminate Against Others

  • Not being hired for a job
  • Being passed over for a promotion
  • Being talked down to
  • Being worked harder than the job requires
  • Being fired
  • Being demoted
  • Not being given the same benefits as others
  • Not being allowed the same opportunities
  • Not receiving the same pay
  • Being bullied/harassed
  • Being given the worst shifts
  • Being made fun of

If you feel that you are being discriminated against in the workplace, then you want to have a consultation with a lawyer. You may have a case for discrimination and might be able to receive fair and just compensation.
